La Sapienza University of Rome

Post-Doc, Modern and Contemporary History

About

I hold a PhD from “La Sapienza” University of Rome and the University of Paris X (2011). My first book, on French Veterans of the Algerian War of Independence, is to be published in 2012 ("Soldati senza causa. Memorie della guerra d'Algeria", Roma-Bari: Laterza). Beyond Francophone studies, my research interests include history of colonialism, anthropology of war violence, history of memory, oral history and postcolonial theory. I am member of the editorial board of "Zapruder: Rivista di storia della conflittualità sociale".
